On the 25th anniversary of her death, we celebrated the life of Afro-German poet May Ayim with an evening of readings and the book launch of Sisters and Souls II (Orlanda Verlag), an anthology edited by Natasha A. Kelly, with texts by 23 Black women authors, inspired by Ayim’s poetry and activism. If you understand German language, my piece "Die Sprache, die wir wählen" can also be listened to on a Deutschlandfunk Nova radio special that aired the same weekend.
